I am going to college next year and am trying to get an idea of what I want to do. The only thing is that I am worried about is that I suffer from clinical depression/anxiety, but don’t know if it would be practical to be a psychologist for example. Would it be a bad idea since I could sympathize with patients and my opinion might be biased at times. I am not saying I am a biased person or anything but just curious if it would be a disadvantage or not.

No, I was more thinking of a Research Psychologist, or a Neurologist. From what I know, there is no counseling involved, or anything like that.

I’m completely undecided on a major, and am trying to find something that would be good for me; something that’s challanging and makes good money, yet interesting and not so boring.
I’m interested in psychology, but I don’t want to be a doctor, and it seems like without a PhD, a psychology career doesn’t make much money.
I know I would be good at engineering, but I feel like I’d get bored with it. It just isn’t very appealing to me.
I found engineering or human factors psychology, which seems interesting, but very uncommon. I couldn’t find much information on what you would do with a degree in human factors or engineering psychology, which makes it seem like it’s not very prominent, and thus difficult to make a career out of.

So my question is: Is there any realistic career path or major that would mesh psychology and engineering?

Are there any other careers I could get into (going to graduate school if needed) and still make a good amount of money. I know that psychiatrists make in the upper $100,000 and I couldnt make that But I would still like to make close to $100,000.

My husband has a Masters in Communications (which appears to be quite useless in this economy). and a bachelors in Psychology (switched majors) and we were just wondering if anyone knew what kind of jobs he can get for now in the Psychology field with a Bachelors degree?

I’m interested in eventually getting a PsyD, but I want to gain some experience in the mental health field before I jump into grad school. Where do I even begin looking for work? I’ve been told to look into case management, rehabilitation, and some other things but they all seem to require the experience that I’m trying to gain.
